If members of Cheap Trick, Husker Du and Van Halen ever decided to form a new group you can bet it would sound a lot like modern rockers Sunspot. For those not yet familiar with the award-winning trio, prepare to experience one of the best Wisconsin has to offer. A raw blend of massive hooks, three-part harmonies and visceral energy, Sunspot's music is designed to make you think, feel, and believe in the power of rock n' roll.

'A talented band with a very unique twist on their music.' Torch Kerrang, Solid Rock Q98.

Cynical, their 2005 release, was easily their most focused and best-sounding record at the time. 'This recording captures the intensity and energy of a Sunspot show,' offers frontman Mike Huberty. 'We have carefully designed this record for maximum rockage.' Sunspot's work on their previous album, Loser of the Year (2003), earned the band numerous accolades and critical acclaim. In 2004, the CD was named Album of the Year by the Madison Area Music Industry. In April of the following year, members of the Wisconsin Area Music Industry awarded Sunspot it's highly coveted Group of the Year designation.

'...their tasty blend of rock and pop screams for radio attention and national exposure... ready for mass consumption,' MikeSOS, Geoff Wilbur's Renegade Newsletter

Music directors across the Midwest have already embraced Sunspot. To date, the band has performed showcases on Madison's WYOU-TV, Milwaukee's WLUM, as well as air time on WLZR, WMSE, WAPL, WFBZ, WIBA, WJJO, WMAD, WMUR, WORT, WSUM, WXSS, WISM, and WRQT. Their tune 'Meat Market,' was awarded 'Track of the Day' on GarageBand.com and they have been featured in indie radio magazine, College 500 (April 2002).

Cincinnati's CityBeat says their music is 'endearingly honest PopRock free of gimmickry.' South of Mainstream says that 'they'll certainly have their day in the sun.' GodsofMusic.com says Sunspot is a band with 'edge' that 'rocks the joint.'

Fast on the heels of their regional achievements, Sunspot is passionate about bringing their anthem-like music to a much wider audience. Besides their relentless tour schedule throughout the Midwest, with regular dates in Wisconsin, Minnesota, Illinois, and Indiana, the band has already branched out with multiple national tours performing concerts in major North American cities such as New York, Boston, Nashville, Houston, St. Louis, Cincinnati, Washington D.C., Detroit, Toronto, Austin, Pittsburgh, Indianapolis, and Tulsa.

Touring has paid off, too. Sunspot has already opened for Death Cab for Cutie, Hot Hot Heat, Sponge, SevenMaryThree, Pilot to Gunner, and House of Large Sizes. Punk legend Milo Aukerman recently joined Sunspot on stage for a crowd-roaring rendition of the Descendents' classic, 'Hope.'

Vocalist/bassist Mike Huberty, lead guitarist Ben Jaeger, and drummer Wendy Lynn Staats share a musical vision to blend the best and most passionate ingredients of punk, alternative, and metal to create an intense rock and roll cocktail.
