With themes of aliens, ghosts, ancient prophecies, and science fiction, Madison, Wisconsin’s Sunspot has fused their passions for the unusual with metaphors for our everyday lives and used them to fuel their latest release, Weirdest Hits. They meld hard rock, pop, electronic, and punk influences with themes that take inspiration from Arthur C. Clarke to Aleister Crowley.

Not only has Sunspot been working on new music, but at the time every week they were puting out a paranormal podcast called See You On The Other Side with a new song about that week’s topic. This album is the most popular of those tracksand they were collected into EPs released every few months. Weirdest Hits is the collection of all those EPs into one album plus three brand new recordings, “Mother of Time”, “Messiah Complex”, and “Don’t Shoot First”. Madison’s alt-weekly Isthmus has called this release “the best music of their career” and the songs were recorded at Cherry Pit Studios in Menomonee Falls, WI.
